Known as the "Jewel of the Georgia Strait", Texada Island has something for everyone. 

Largest of the Gulf Islands, Texada is home to approximately 1100 people, most of whom choose to live here year round.  Many are employed by the limestone quarries and in logging as well as cottage industries, arts and crafts.

Stop in at the Visitor Information Centre when you get off the ferry at Blubber Bay terminal.  It is just up the road on your right  located in:

Check out Manyana's eclectic collection of souvenirs and local crafts and make sure to get yourself an espresso while you're there.  Pick up a map and brochures to help plan your visit.

You can get a sampling of island handiwork at the weekly Sunday Farmer's Market in Gillies Bay which is open from mid-June to mid-September or stop by Holtenwood Gallery & Cafe Casita to enjoy some great food and shop for terrific one-of-a-kind gifts, souvenirs and art.

Cozy up in a lovely cabin at the beach, pitch a tent in a quiet corner of one of our beautiful parks, book in to one of our hotels, bed-and-breakfasts or scenic lodges and you will see why people who come here never want to leave.  For more specific information click on the "Accommodations" link above.

Feeling hungry?  You can find gourmet meals, great pub food, a concession stand at  Shelter Point Park along with several other dining venues serving a wide variety of hearty and healthy choices.  Or pick up some supplies at one of the local grocery stores and make up a picnic lunch to take with you as you explore all Texada has to offer.  Check out the "Food and Drink" link above for a list of what's available.

A birdwatcher's paradise, Texada has more than 250 resident and migrant species of birds including cormorants, heron, bald eagles, Anna's and Rufous hummingbirds and many more.   Come and enjoy all your favorite outdoor activities in safety as Texada Island has no major predators such as bears, cougars or poisonous snakes.  See our "Recreation" link above for some suggested activities.

Motorists should keep a sharp eye out for signs of our home-based artisan and agri-tourism stops.  Watch for the island's many small deer, too.
